System Engineering Project 2
Medistation

MediStation is a smart, RFID-enabled medication collection bin designed to streamline hospital medication handovers and enhance traceability. It securely logs staff interactions during drop-off and collection, using visual LED cues to signal medication status. By addressing common issues like misplaced medication and unclear handovers, MediStation improves accountability, reduces nurse workload, and supports safer, more efficient hospital workflows. - C and C++ (Arduino & ESP32 (Server))

Systems Engineering & Technical Oversight

- Technology Integration
- Requirements Engineering

The MediStation project was a journey of rapid prototyping and practical problem-solving. Despite limited backend access, we engineered seamless communication between devices, ensuring secure, traceable medication handovers through focused, resilient programming and hardware integration.

System Engineering Project 1
SMART Navigation and Obstacle Detection with Agilex LIMO Robot

This project focuses on the design and navigation of complex arenas using the Agilex LIMO robot. The primary objective was to create a challenging environment with obstacles to enhance experience in a simulated setting and to successfully navigate the LIMO robot through arenas crafted by peers. (Group Link)

Systems Engineering Approach to Integration By employing a systems engineering approach, we developed a comprehensive project framework, pinpointed core issues, assessed various solutions and successfully integrated the robot with the arena design. Skills Demonstrated: * Project Planning: Defined project goals and managed the project timeline. * Requirements Analysis: Identified essential functionalities and challenges for both the arena and the robot. * Systems Integration: Ensured seamless interaction between the robot's capabilities and the arena design. * Trade-Off Studies & Evaluation: Compared alternative solutions and selected the most optimal options.

Technical Engineering Skills Utilized engineering and programming expertise to design, implement, and deploy the arena and mobile robot, incorporating advanced sensor capabilities. Skills Demonstrated: * ROS: Employed ROS 1 knowledge to manage robot movement and process sensor data from LIDAR and cameras. * Sensor Integration: Integrated LIDAR and camera vision to enhance accurate obstacle detection and navigation.

Collaborating for Success As a dedicated team member, I contributed to the successful completion of the project by effectively collaborating, communicating, and overcoming challenges. Skills Demonstrated: * Collaboration: Worked closely with team members to achieve project goals. * Teamwork & Communication: Maintained clear communication channels and fostered a cooperative environment. * Task Management: Assisted in planning and managing tasks for efficient project execution. * Problem-Solving: Contributed to overcoming obstacles and setbacks through creative solutions. * Project Management Tools: Applied SEBOK and PMBOK-based tools and methodologies to support project governance.
